Materials of MUJI
Kapok
Kapok is a natural fibre with a smooth, soft texture. Due to its hollow structure, Kapok is the world’s lightest natural fibre. It performs well at absorbing moisture and retaining heat, while the smooth texture of the fibres gives Kapok its enhanced softness and elasticity.
Hemp
Hemp cultivation has an extremely low environmental impact as they are derived from fast-growing plants that require little water and no pesticides. The plants also improve the quality of the soil in which they grow, making hemp a sustainable fabric option that also improve your daily life.
Linen
Flax, the plant in which linen fabric is made from, is grown in an environment with large temperature variations and moderate humidity. The strength and smoothness of flax fibres comes from its resilience to cold temperatures it was cultivated in, making linen items extremely durable.
